Hong Kong
Day 4 - 18th Aug 06'

last day of travelling around hong kong... so what we did was eat what we wanted shop what we needed... as a matter of fact we weren't really doing much of shopping was more on food hunting actually... so we checked out early left our baggage with the hotel staff and off we go to li yuen street... again... yes cos sy wanted to get a bag for her sis which she ended up not buying... and so after that we went revisited King Bakery for my egg tart and the baked rice cake (mochi style) with red bean filling

*cheers* before we move

hongkies love hello kitty... so kawaii neh?
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we stopped by this shop for lunch... no particular reason why we had chosen this instead of the many others... probably it was the large crowd that got us attracted... we were not given a choice as to where to be seated... they tumpang-ed us with other customers

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we shared ---> wan ton mee... with really big crunchy prawn wan ton & century egg + shreaded pork porridge... they may look ordinary but they tasted otherwise nyam nyam

we were really budgetting and counted to the dot on what we should spend on... i have a little excess but sy was close to penniless if she were to spend any further... at times like this... heaven heard us and............................. downpoured cold hard cash
we were lucky being in that area at the right time where they happened to announce the opening ceremony of a new something which till now i knew not of... and were said giving out cash to the public... being close to penniless we of course joined in the crowd to well... collect free cash... hehe and in total i've collected HKD17 while sy collected lot more HKD25
thank you 'common space' without u... we wouldn't have gotten ourselves a free Hui Lau San mango drink =) before our departure

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we dropped by some mall before heading back to our hotel... there's a shop which i came across that sells ridiculous items but many thought it was cute... revealing the trendiest item of the century ---> LEGGO accessories... crazy... they made pendants & necklaces out of leggos, bracelets AND the funniest thing that i've ever came across and heard ppl commenting how cute it was... was the leggo human head been made as studded earrings -_-" i could easily open a stall at ladies street selling the same thing using my old leggo sets charging half the price and earning some bucks before flying home
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
i love graffitis
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the free Hui Lau San before heading back to our hotel... it's much lesser when u take away... and it's somewhat different than what u will be having when u're sitting in... nonetheless its heaaaaAAAaaavvvvvvVVVvvveeeeeNNnnnnnnnly

Hong Kong
Day 3 - 17th Aug 06'
we checked out of L'Hotel and into Ramada Hong Kong ... time passes quicker in hong kong... probably because we wasted half the first day during the journey from the airport to the hotel... anyways... checked out early and had been carrying our heavy luggage heading to our next hotel... it was then sy notices the stairs which appears in all series... the 'steep stairway' this was the shorter version of course... nevertheless no harm having a pic with it since it looked like the real one...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
then off we headed to our hotel by subway to Sheung Wan then walk and walk and walk and walk a hel' lot before arriving at our hotel... we walked along the street called Seafood Street? or something to that off... basically the entire stretch sells nothing but dried seafood... it took us ages before arriving at our hotel and the nearest subway was said to be 20 minutes walk... crazy... we took longer than that... the walk was crap... and we weren't able to check in as they were still cleaning the room...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
they even had a dressing table in the toilet... so cute with a stool
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we couldn't wait till the rooms were done cos' then it was 1.30pm and we shall not waste our time waiting... so we left our luggage with them till night... then off we go to the Avenue of Stars... similar to those in with hollywood stars... only that this are famous hongkie artists... my gorgeous chow sing chi is one of them... hehe... muahahahhaahaahaha... so proud of him... BUT the sad thing was... his hand prints weren't on it... *boo*
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
why lah chow sing chi... why didn't u spare some of ur time for this? at least i can see how big ur hands were even if i can't see the real u
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
jet li's hand print... can u see the different shades of my neck and back... my neck got burnt when i was in korea... the sun there is way hotter than it was in hong kong
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
fight like a bruce...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
sea view from the place i was standing... really breathtaking
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
after spending quite some time there... we continued our journey of shopping around the streets... Temple Street for a very short while... cos it was said to be "man's street" as they were selling erm... man's stuff... so we detoured back to Ladies Street again... haha...
had our dinner at a noodle shop... don't know what it was called in mandarin... but this shop specialises in noodles only... see what i mean
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
all the different types of noodles for u to choose
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
what i had was featured on the newspaper cutting stuck on the wall... wrong choice of noodle though and what sy had was pork chop cold noodle... vermicilli i think
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and some fried dumpling... which fillings was parsley or the green thingy that they normally fry together with char kuey teow
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and smart enough this time... we took the HKD2 tram which stops directly at our hotel... hehe... no more long walks

Hong Kong
Day 2 - 16th Aug 06'
woke up early in the morning... haha yeah right who am i kidding... last night was darn tired... we even got back to hotel like 10-ish which never happened while we were in korea... bathed then conked out flat... no free breakfast were given so we had only beverages and off we go... by the time we got out of the hotel it was close to 11am...
our spontaneous plan was to makan dim sum and head to madame tussauds... arrived at City Hall Maxim's Palace at Central for their dim sum as i've researched reviews stated it was the best moreover they were listed as one of the recommended dinings in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival list
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the dim sums that we ordered...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the 'char siew bau' was good... the bau is soft and the 'char siew' wasn't fat good good
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
honeydew sago dessert... sooooooo yummy that in the end we ordered two bowls... we shared the first one... then couldn't resist had to get another...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we ordered way lot of dim sums... we were still ordering before we had any one of the waitress was like "why don't u eat first then order later... if not, when it gets cold it wouldn't taste good" abit pai-seh lah... but it'll be nicer to have a picture taken with the many many dim sums altogether and it'll be yummier to savour the taste slowly being able to choose of the many varieties rather than finish one and have to wait before the waitress arrive with the cart...
i have never eaten so much dim sums in my life... because... 1. no price were stated so order saja 2. it was so yummy that u cannot stop ordering 3. after all we did a whole lot of budgetting in korea why not have a good meal once and for all... see how happy i am
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and the bill turns out to be a whooping...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
yeah i know... it's just crazy... i was shocked... but yeah... it was all worthwhile... hehe...
a pic at Queen's Pier located right opposite City Hall

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
after that we quickly headed to hopped into the open deck bus to the lower peak to take the tram to the peak
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the Peak Tram
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and we arrived at Madame Tussauds situated at the peak
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
yeah finally i got to meet bae yong jun... smmooocchhyyyy
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the view on the peak
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
spending almost 3 hours in madame because sy took pics with every wax and with every costumes provided... this was the funniest i've seen... muahahhaahahahaha... boy does she entertains me... hahaha
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
next we started our journey of street shopping... we landed at li yuen steet... the bag shop where she bought one recommended us to King Bakery for their egg tarts... and truly their egg tarts were remarkable... i bought two it was squashed by the time i got back to the hotel... but sy's tart survived
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
we visited more streets like the Fa Yuen Street and the Ladies Market... no picture was snapped cos err every street looks similar... haha... anyways... in my humble opinion u can't say u've been to hong kong unless u've try their fishballs... so yes... i bought it... it doesn't look spicy... because the soup it was dipped and cook in wasn't red/curry like... it was black... no idea why it turned out to be spicy... i thought hongkies do not eat spicy stuff... i was disappointed a little because i couldn't find those push-cart stalls like those existed in tvb series... didn't manage to even try "putt chai kou"
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
after much wandering... we decided to head back as most of the shops closes around 11.30pm... arrived at our hotel about midnight... here's a pic of our beautiful hotel

our room number... 2111
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

after freshen up... our first day was spend wandering around several places of the same district... couldn't possibly do much since half the day was gone... so we travelled to Causeway Bay by mtr... the subway route in hong kong is much simpler than in korea and it's easy to follow

we stopped by Sogo mall our first visit... and managed to locate Hui Lau San and had our mango pudding dessert then... nyam nyam nyam... i really missed the mango pudding there...

we saw many people clustering around this shop and was wondering what they sell... they sell all sorts of goreng stuff and some soupy based thing... i was curious on this particular dish which many people bungkus and makan by the roadside... it smelt good and i decided to try

made of really delicious soup... pig intestines, blood, "chung", and radish... it also had fried garlic flakes all over it... i ate the rest and threw the blood thingy away cos it was disgusting
