how it all started---> yum cha session with wwah... planned to have a roadtrip... destination... ipoh... reason... to makan... problem... no car... on the 8th of Jan... was trying out my luck in asking my mom if i could take the car and have a short roadtrip up to ipoh... could be just a day's trip nothing fancy just for the fun of driving out of KL once and for all to makan stuffs which hardly can be found here... mom's reaction "huh?... to ipoh? in ur small car? 2 hours plus journey? just to eat? ur car so small not comfortable wan... i don't know go ask daddy"... so i ran downstairs looked at dad with irressistable bambi eyes "di... can my friends and i take the car for a day's trip down to ipoh? if not... maybe we'll go somewhere near... say... malacca... can lah yeah... can lah di... please lah... can right?" *prays hard that dad would agree*... dad pauses thinks and replied "shouldn't be a prob... short distance... fine... better to go melaka than to ipoh" *me shrieks with joy ran all the way up stairs meet yoongrilla online to discuss* that was sunday noon... we both took about an hour to decide on the destination... and none the info was pass to our driver wwah cos he was out whole day... later the night... told wwah all the details... dragged shawn along... gene couldn't make it cos he had classes the following day... it was rather spontaneous really... we did no booking of rooms cos No.1 we can't book online as the booking system only starts on the 9th which is the day we will be going No.2 there weren't any hotel phone numbers stated so we can't call either way... since it's a spontaneous trip... we planned to leave on the same day if we couldn't find a place to bunk and stay a night if we could... on that night just couldn't sleep at all... too excited mah on the 9th of Jan... woke up at 8 something did some last minute research online and printed out the maps to the hotel we intended to bunk in... picked up wwah arrived yoongrilla's place all ready around 10-ish and off our journey started... got lost on the way... got stucked at seremban town... had a short break in the coffeeshop... that was around 11-ish... we arrived malacca approx 2 something... then was just arriving the state of melaka... has yet to see a sign of the town... turn round and round in circles... asking directions from many... was given confusing directions from many... did many U-turns... got so frustrated... poor weng wah was so tense... pressured... hungry at the same time... and finally we arrived malacca town almost 3pm... still can't eat yet cos we've not found our hotel... i went down with shawn asked one of the bank's employee... he explained the directions and told us the building was greyish whitish... we made a big round to turn out... across the bridge... finally found the hotel and it was pink... what the heck... greyish whitish what bull... checked-in then was around late 3... like others took only 2 hours to get to malacca we took 5... can beat the m'sian record man... it was raining... the room's 100bux with 1 queen size bed and 1 single bed... clean... rather spacious... with such beds given it's consider cheap and good to bunk in... Hotel Grand Continental Melaka... still raining... without umbrellas we walked around melaka town... thank gawd for caps... as long as we mentioned about the weather the weather changes... we did say it was fine then it started to pour... a couple of times... so next time when u go on trips... do not mention about weathers... 1st stop... makan... Restoran Famosa Chicken Rice Ball... sumptious meal and it costs only RM19.15... then we walked around melaka town... jonker street... all drenched up... shawn manages to buy a 3bux cap to shelter from rain... most of the shops were close.. shops closes pretty early over there... walk and keep walking seen many stuffs... they were new shops in jonker streets but we visited mainly those artsy fartsy stuffs... old buildings... handicrafts... wooden lamps... had dinner at late 7... wan tan mee is only RM2.20 can u believe it? and it tasted fine... had oh-chein (oysters fried with egg+flour)... couldn't find any peranakan food stalls most of them were closed... wandered around the church's area, red building area... had shengtau beer (hong kong beer) at Discovery Cafe... rested awhile more... then headed back hotel around late 10 to 11pm... later the night... played "chor tai dee" at first then got bored with it... played "bluff" and i am the queen of "bluff" muahaahahahahaa weng wah u lousy lah u!!!~ ppffffttttt shawn's pretty lousy at it too... he can't lie... aiiih *shakes head*... next morning... 10th Jan... woke early check-out at 9.30am... off we go... drove and parked at melaka town... the shop we wanna have our brunch only starts its business at 11.30am... so we snapped more pics... visited some shops that was closed the day before... it rained a little not as heavy as the previous day... bought egg tarts at Tart & Tart shop (what a way to name ur shop) wandered a little more then went back to the shop makan nyonya food... like the laksa and some other noodles, goreng goreng rojak, baba ice kacang in gula melaka, baba cendol in gula melaka... not bad lah... but why no sago in gula melaka?? i thought sago pudding is a peranakan food... anyways... we visited some other tourisy places such as the Famosa wall... train... buildings... didn't manage to enter any museums cos they were closed since it was a public holiday afterall... journey back home approx 1.20pm... spontaneously decided to drop by port dickson for a stretch... after which felt like eating kajang satay hence dropped by kajang... but satay stalls closed due to public holiday... silly us should have thought about that before heading there... everyone's bushed tired restless... thought of having separate dinners on our own... on the way sending shawn home... we ended up eating at Ayu Thai for dinner... as a happy closure for our trip lah... makan song song... shall on diet after that... all in all... i had a great and wonderful trip thanks to u guys this trip was made very fruitful... the people, the indecisiveness, the spontaneouscity made it all work out!!!~ ^_^ *huggies* 9th Jan 06' - on the start of journey approximate 10.30am... wwah took over the wheels...    arrived melaka... check into Hotel Grand Continental Melaka   first stop for food... Famosa Chicken Rice Ball  melaka town... jonker street and other streets    freakin' tired by the end of the day...  yoongrilla got piggy back by lil' wwah... man that guy is strong okay don't see him like he was in high school all scrawny and kiddo  had coffee while yoongrilla counted the day's expenses  wwah... got hungry again... eating noodles in room... doesn't he look like moses chan the actor here?  what we did during the night for leisure... "chor tai dee" "bluff"  10th Jan 06' - starting the day's touring around melaka town... visited shops that was closed the day before... following the map provided   8 Heeren Street   stopped for brunch  visited more places... ship... baba house... red buildings... flowers...      on the way to port dickson   port dickson!!!~   dinner at ayu thai  there were more pics yea... but impossible to post it all... so see the beautiful me in this few pieces hehehee hahahahaha hohohooho!!!~ next roadtrip ---> ipoh or penang? where shall it be? hahaha...mun looks like you had a great time!! the person must be colour blind, pink is whitish greyish, and yeah weng wah look like moses chan in the pic!! Hahaha...
