penang was AWESOME!!!~ i am happy throughout the trip despite the fact that i lost my camera and all the memorable experiences captured was gone gone GONNNNEeeeeeeee!!! i hadn't realise that my camera was gone till we were heading home and ray was like... take a snap of the penang bridge... it's gone my camera is g-o-n-e...

the journey started off at 2am on the 17th... yes crazy i know but ray said it is best to start at that hour to beat the traffic congestions the next morning since ppl would be working... it sounded logical till i realised from sy that 17th is a sunday? nobody works on a sunday... geessshh... the plan goes on... we started off at 1.30am cos' kwei manage to go off early from the wedding dinner he attended... the journey begins...

i was sleeping throughout the ride... i don't want to but i really cannot take it... my eyes were heavy and i wasn't even concentrating on any conversation so i konked lying at the backseat =) it's nice not being the driver... 2.30am stopped for a rest... the guys had noodles while me had milo... journey continues to another stop at 4 sumthing, kwei had a cup of coffee... then it was all the way to penang... arrived penang at 5+ but couldn't find the location that we wanted... finally managed to get to gurney drive and parked the car there at 6-ish... i took a breathe sitting on the stretch of wall, ray trying to locate places with the map, kwei sleeping in car

rested till the sun rises... found a place with dragon boat competition going on while searching for places to makan... stayed to watch until the first race was over, then continued searching for breakfast at 9 sumthing in a local market... did a little morning market grocery of bananas, cherry tomatoes and salt to wash the tomatoes, had wan tan mee, kopi peng, and shared char kueh kak... after that headed to an unknown beach at batu ferringhi, take a short stopped before moving on to the next destination... had aimless drivings, in the midst of journey we found snake temple... dropped by for 15mins while deciding on the next destination... ended up at kek lok si, had lunch first before climbing up the really long stairs, char kuey teow with sugarcane at noon, donated and had our names written on the same roof tile... left kek lok si bout 3.30pm and had teabreak of asam laksa with sugarcane... it seems that sugarcane is a popular juice to order there

after teabreak we head off to ymca where our bunking place is for the night... 3 beds for RM85... reasonable, plus it is airconditioned with attached bathroom and tv... i thought it was gonna be one of those dodgy hostels... but it wasn't... finally napped till 9.30pm then off to dinner at New Lane... i had curry mee with leng chee kang, kwei had prawn mee with ais kacang, ray had beef noodles with leng chee kang, then we shared popiah and oh chien... they obviously are very insensitive towards my diet... we drove back to gurney drive after dinner and sat on top of the wall to enjoy the sea breeze eating ice-cream at 11-ish

back to the hotel around midnight... next morning got up at 9.30, complimentary breakfast at ymca... then off to Crown Jewel Hotel's beach where the guys swam while i jaga bags... hehe no bathing suit plus i'm too lazy to shower again before the journey home... we spent about an hour there before heading back to ymca to pack our belongings before the ride home

arrived PJ bout 6-ish had dinner at SS19 tai chow before dropping me home =)
